Yes, you absolutely can. I use a cream wax because that allows me to apply an oil on the skin instead of a powder. An oil creates a better barrier between your skin and the wax. It also keeps the skin hydrated which decreases the risk of any skin lifting and irritation. If you'd prefer to do a test patch, send me a message and we can make that happen.

I prefer to wait 3 weeks after your last shave. This is going to help guarantee a better result from your very first wax. Our hair grows in 3 stages which means some hair will be long enough to wax while other hair will still be under the skin. The longer the hair, the better chances of getting as much as we can during your very first appointment.

Waxing makes your hair grow back thinner and weaker, which means it won't be strong enough to grow through a layer of dead skin. To maintain your great results, you must exfoliate 2-3 times every week and keep your skin hydrated. If you're especially prone to ingrowns, a Bushbalm oil is the perfect solution. It hydrates, prevents ingrowns and several oils lighten dark spots as well.

It can! I prefer my clients to use a Bushbalm scrub or a scrubby mitt that can be thrown in the wash. A combination of the two is also great! A loofah cannot be used between waxes because it doesn't exfoliate enough and it spreads bacteria around the skin.

If you already have something that you love, go ahead and use that. Just run it by me if you're unsure whether it's safe for post wax.

This could happen for a few reasons. Is this your first wax or your first wax after a long break? It takes at least 3-4 waxes to get every single hair long enough to wax at one time.

Are you trimming or shaving in between waxes? This resets any progress.

Are you following aftercare? Exfoliating and staying hydrated? Dead skin traps hairs to or beneath the skin, so they're unable to be waxed.

Are you coming in on a 4-6 week schedule? For some people, myself included, I have to follow an exact 4 week schedule to get the best results. For some they have to come every 5 weeks. We can easily adjust your schedule to find the perfect timeline for you.

You can but you won't be perfectly smooth. It takes several waxes booked 4 weeks apart to see the full benefits of waxing.

  • staying smooth for several weeks
  • thin, soft hair growing back in
  • seeing much less hair grow back

If you're only coming in once before an event, I cannot guarantee we'll get every hair in that one appointment. You will likely have new growth poking through in the following few days.

Using a scrub several times a week and using a soothing serum can make all the difference. I highly recommend a Bushbalm oil. The Spa Day oil, for example, will keep the skin hydrated and help treat any bumps. Apply it right after the shower while your skin is softest.

For some people, homecare will not be enough to treat Keratosis Pilaris. It's best to see a dermatologist.

If you're using retinol, you'll need to stop using it at least 5 days before your wax. This ensures you get a great result by losing the hair and keeping the skin!

If you're on accutane, you will have to be off of it for at least 6 months. You are at risk for tearing on accutane and you absolutely cannot wax while on it.

It depends on the type of bumps you're seeing. Most often, I see a histamine reaction on the face if I see any bumps at all. This is your skin reacting like it's an allergen but it does go down within about an hour or so usually. It doesn't do any harm but if it happens regularly, you might find an allergy medication an hour before your appointment will help. Always check with your doctor if you're unsure.

It really depends on what result you're looking for.

If you're looking to darken up your brow hairs and are hoping for a slight wash of color on the skin, a regular wax & tint is best for you. This will even out the color of your brows, give you some definition while still being soft. (1-5 days on the skin, 3-5 weeks on the hair)

A hybrid tint is the option for you if you're wanting a longer lasting tint and a stronger color payoff. This doesn't mean it has to be harsh but it is a more pigmented color. It lasts much longer on the skin giving you a more defined, filled in look. It also lasts longer on the hair. (7-14 days on the skin, 4-8 weeks on the hair)

The best way to prolong your brow tint is to leave it alone. Oil and exfoliants will remove the tint from your skin much faster. If you're trying to fully extend the life of your tint, it's best to avoid makeup and scrubbing them until they've started to fade.

This being said, it's also not something you can fully control. Some people have a really easy time keeping the tint on their skin for the full 10+ days but that's not possible for everyone.

My Golden Glow treatment was created to turn any quick brow, lash or face service into something truly relaxing. Instead of coming in for a quick service, we put a duvet on the treatment table and turn on the sunset lamp. We'll do a thorough face cleanse, a eucalyptus hot towel, a long facial massage, a hydrating face mask and a long scalp massage to name a few. Your skin will absolutely glow after this service!

To prevent any issues post wax, we take our time prepping your skin before your treatment. We cleanse your skin properly before waxing and we use products that don't clog your pores. If this is a concern for you, please reach out and we can talk about what might be best.

We chose our products specifically for sensitive skin so that would never rule out any services for you. A cream wax allows us to use an oil on your skin first. This creates a great barrier between you and the wax. This means a more comfortable wax and it's safer on your sensitive skin.

In order to avoid a breakout or extra sensitivities post wax, it's important to keep your hands off. Any bacteria put on the skin can cause a breakout or folliculitis - an infection in the hair follicles.

It's also important to avoid hot water, direct sunlight and any dirty water from pools, lakes or the ocean. For a full list of what to avoid post wax, check out the Homecare page on our site.

When it comes to the face, it's personal preference. For some women, they come every 2 weeks on the dot. For others who simply like the extra exfoliation and to lose the peach fuzz, they come in as they feel like it.

2-4 weeks is a typical timeline when it comes to removing facial hair. Upper lip, darker chin hairs and brow hairs typically require a 2 week appointment if you don't want to see them.
